Deep Freeze for Dealership Deals?  (continued)
A Refutation
The doom and gloom headline in the September 14th issue of Automotive
News diminished hope for dealers across the country who are thinking
about selling their dealerships.

Yet from my perspective as a Broker of automobile dealerships spanning 25
years and several major business cycles, our industry looks quite different.

Nancy represents franchised automobile dealers by
orchestrating dealership sales and closures for those
wishing to divest, facilitating targeted acquisitions on
behalf of buyers and determining the true market value of
their business.  They have been successfully serving auto
dealers for over 25 years, with great professionalism.
Not only are dealerships selling but certain franchises such as Volkswagen, Subaru, Hyundai, and Kia  are valued higher
and selling for more than they have over the last few years and, in certain cases,  for more than they have ever sold  before.
Other franchises as well, previously considered marginal, have also had their standings elevated by the default of two thirds of
our domestic industry segment.

And while some of the substantive issues noted in DEEP FREEZE hold some truth, there is another side to those same issues
that is not merely hopeful but downright optimistic.

I would like to share that other side with all those dealers who cringed at the headline in bold on the face of their industry
Tabloid.  The writing of it, in and of itself, can make for a near self fulfilling prophecy as Brokers respond by lowering
valuations and purchasers look for fire sales.

Different regions and areas may have different circumstances, but I urge you to decide for yourself what is true for you in your
market area and with your particular franchise.

Compare the negative excerpts from DEEP FREEZE to the position of
Nancy Phillips Associates relative to our industry today before making
important decisions about the value of your dealership.
AUTOMOTIVE NEWS
Nancy Phillips Associates represents franchised automobile dealers by orchestrating dealership sales
and closures for those wishing to divest, facilitating targeted acquisitions on behalf of buyers and
determining the true market value of their business.  We have been successfully serving auto dealers for
over 25 years, with great professionalism, the highest level of trustworthiness and a concise
personalized plan for your particular dealership situation.  We base our reputation on our ability to
determine and facilitate a dealership exit strategy for you that is far more effective and financially
beneficial than what you will receive without the employment of our services.
The auto industry is not going away and in fact the playing field for those who wish to stay in the game is only going to expand.
Not only are there fewer same brand dealers to compete with and larger sales territories to control, there is also an entire menu of
new franchises from other countries preparing for entry into the US market – and they will all require dealers.

Now is the best time to analyze your position in this industry of ours.  If exiting is your preference, get expert advice on the
potential value of your dealership.  You may be surprised at the opportunity your business presents to another dealer or even your
own franchisor.

If staying is the foundation of your business plan, make sure to identify the prospects for future growth in your market area.  The
current availability of dealerships and re-locatable franchises will be short lived and you may not ever have another chance to take
advantage of the opportunities they present.

Dealers, Good Luck to you all and remember that there is much more than just a glimmer of hope in our industry, there is the
promise of a whole new day.
